The Bermuda Triangle is an LP by Tomita from 1979 released on the RCA Red Seal label.
About this album
The Bermuda Triangle finds Tomita turning orchestral repertoire and film music into striking electronic tableaux. Released in 1978, the album continues his run of adventurous synthesiser interpretations, combining the rigour of modern classical writing with the atmosphere and colour associated with ambient and new age music. Pieces drawn from Prokofiev, Sibelius and John Williams are transformed through Tomita’s detailed programming and dramatic studio construction, giving familiar themes a futuristic sheen without losing their original tension. As part of his late-1970s output, the record underlines why he became one of electronic music’s most distinctive interpreters of the concert hall.
