Recorded during a period of internal tension, it was produced by the band with Chris Kimsey, who helped shape its glossy, punchy finish. Often viewed as one of the group’s more uneven but ambitious early-’80s records, Undercover captures the Stones testing how far they could push their sound without losing their identity.
