With Klaus Voormann, Alan White and Eric Clapton in the band, Lennon pushed beyond polished pop into a rough, urgent blend of rock ’n’ roll revival, anti-war statement and onstage spontaneity. It remains one of the key live documents of his solo-era beginnings.
