Released in 1970, it found the band stretching out across long-form pieces such as ‘Facelift’, ‘Slightly All The Time’ and the side-long ‘Out-Bloody-Rageous’, blending jazz discipline, psychedelic drift and avant-garde risk. The album marked a key turning point in the Canterbury scene, with complex ensemble writing and adventurous soloing replacing conventional rock formats.
