Metal Health is the breakthrough album that turned Quiet Riot into a mainstream hard rock force and helped bring heavy metal to the pop charts. Released in 1983, it became the first heavy metal album to reach number one on the Billboard 200, fuelled by the title track and a muscular version of Slade’s “Cum On Feel the Noize”. The record’s blend of glam swagger, heavy riffs and arena-ready choruses captured the early-80s LA metal boom at its commercial peak. Its success opened the door for a wave of guitar-heavy rock on radio and MTV, making it one of the era’s defining crossover releases.
