Everybody's Rockin' is Neil Young's wry, deliberately old-school rockabilly detour, credited to The Shocking Pinks and built around a tight, stripped-back sound. Released in 1983, the album follows his stark early-80s experiments with a tongue-in-cheek salute to 1950s rock and roll, mixing novelty, parody and genuine affection for the style. Backed by the Shocking Pinks, Young leans into clipped rhythms, hand-claps and vintage phrasing on songs such as 'Wonderin'' and 'Kinda Fonda Wanda'. Its split reception only sharpened its reputation as one of his most unusual and playful major-label era statements.
