Super Session is a landmark blues-rock collaboration that turned a spontaneous studio idea into one of the late 1960s' most admired jam records. Cut in 1968 with Al Kooper alongside guitarist Mike Bloomfield and, on the second half, Stephen Stills, the album thrives on chemistry rather than polish, with extended interpretations of songs such as “It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry” and “Season of the Witch”.
