The Snow Goose is an LP by Camel from 1975 released on the Decca label.
About this album
The Snow Goose is Camel’s most celebrated statement, a finely drawn progressive rock suite that turned the band’s melodic instinct into something grand and distinctive. Issued in 1975, the album is a largely instrumental concept work inspired by Paul Gallico’s novella, with elegant themes and recurring motifs linking pieces such as “Rhayader”, “Flight Of The Snow Goose” and “Dunkirk”. Built around the interplay of Andrew Latimer’s guitar and Peter Bardens’ keyboards, it helped define Camel’s reputation for symphonic prog that favoured warmth and restraint over bombast. The album remains one of the genre’s most admired and accessible classics.
